Has anyone noticed how exspensive mold materials are? Not to mention you barely get any mold material for the price you pay. After some research I found out an easy way to make molds! In fact most of these things you can find around your house! I wasn't sure it would work with PLA and ABS printed parts but it does work. So let's begin!

Silicone Molds for 3D Printed Parts:

Materials

-100% Silicone (Very important that it is 100%)

-A bowl or container

-Item to mold

Directions

1:For every 3 cups of water add 1/4 cup of soap. Put it into a bowl and mix the mixture

2: Put as much silicone as you think you'll use for molds

3: Knead in your hand for at least 5 minuets but don't over knead it otherwise it will fall apart or become like over kneaded bread.

4: Smooth it out in a coin shape onto a surface (wax paper or plastic sheet)

5: Press the plastic part into the mold

6: Let it set mine took me about 2 hours to set

7: Take the plastic part out of the mold and let it set overnight

At the moment I put some resin into the mold so we will see how that goes. I am very happy with it so far though. It has the texture and flex of a high quality mold!
